It is only found in the southern most counties of the state. It was blooming on June 20, but some of the flowers were past prime. Spiranthes lacera and S. lacera v gracilis can be found in the same prairie in northern Indiana in mid August. S. ovalis is a late bloomer in northern Indiana. Last year there were still some nice flowers during the third week of September. It's interesting how the bloom periods differ from Ohio to Indiana even though we share the same latitudesPetehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09738292476743125323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022216829037318291.post-75387704514466189952011-01-16T14:48:14.020-05:002011-01-16T14:48:14.020-05:00Andrew, really enjoy your blog. I found a lot of Cranefly orchid this summer, it's such a unique and interesting plant. I'm assuming all the plants you saw had already gone to seed a ways back? Did you see the cool leaf they send up each Fall?Andrew Lane Gibsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01555125434346996812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7022216829037318291.post-54154250566394890152010-10-09T14:04:43.649-04:002010-10-09T14:04:43.649-04:00I just found grass-leaved ladys' tresses in th...I just found grass-leaved ladys' tresses in the woods today along with canefly orchid.
